Choosing a colour scheme for your wedding table
Most wedding tables work best with one base colour and one metallic accent. White and gold feels classic and warm, white and silver looks crisp and modern, and transparent with gold lets a patterned tablecloth or wooden table show through. Cream and pearl pieces soften the look for romantic or vintage themes, while black and gold adds evening drama. Pick your metallic first, then match cutlery, plate rims and napkins to it so the whole table reads as one set.
How much do you need per guest?
Plates and napkins are sold in packs, so work out quantities per course rather than per table. A simple plan for a seated dinner:
- One dinner plate (26 cm) per guest, plus one smaller plate (23 cm) if you serve a starter or dessert.
- One knife, fork and spoon per guest, plus a teaspoon if coffee or dessert is served.
- One wine cup and one tumbler per guest for the toast and water.
- At least one napkin per guest at the table, and extra for the buffet, bar and cake.
Always add a few spares for unexpected guests, the top table and last-minute replacements. For tablecloths, measure your tables and compare them with the 138 x 274 cm size before ordering.
Why choose reusable wedding tableware?
Reusable plastic tableware gives you the look of a formal place setting without the weight, cost and breakage risk of hiring porcelain and glass. The pieces are light to transport, easy to set out in large numbers and can be used again for the rehearsal dinner, the day-after brunch, anniversaries or other celebrations, instead of being thrown away after one meal.

How to combine your wedding table decorations
Lay the tablecloth first and add a runner down the centre for long tables. Place a charger plate under each dinner plate for a more formal setting, put the cutlery in a pocket napkin or beside the plate, and set the wine cup and tumbler at the top right. Leave the centre of the table for flowers or candles. For styling inspiration, read our wedding table decoration ideas guide, or start with the basics in our complete table setting guide.
Wedding table decorations FAQ
What should be on a wedding guest table?
At minimum: a tablecloth, a dinner plate, cutlery, a napkin and at least one glass per guest. Charger plates, a runner, side plates and a centrepiece make the table look more complete.
Can I mix gold and silver on the same table?
Yes, as long as you repeat each metal more than once, for example gold cutlery with silver-rimmed plates and a neutral white tablecloth. Mixing is easiest when the base colours stay simple.
Are these plates and cups disposable?
No. The plates, cutlery, cups and serveware in this collection are reusable plastic, designed to be used again after the wedding. Napkins, tablecloths and runners are table decor items; check each product page for details.
Which plate size should I choose?
Use 26 cm plates for the main course and 23 cm plates for starters, desserts or wedding cake. Check the size on each product page, as designs differ.
